Capello appelle Carroll

Le sélectionneur de l’Angleterre a appelé pour la première fois Andy Carroll pour affronter la France mercredi en match amical à Wembley. Révélation de ce début de saison, le jeune attaquant de Newcastle (21 ans) se voit offrir une chance de faire ses grands débuts internationaux face aux Bleus. Le technicien italien a aussi convoqué trois autres novices au plus haut niveau : Jordan Henderson (Sunderland), Chris Smalling (Manchester United) et Jay Bothroyd (Cardiff). Ce dernier, âgé de 28 ans, évolue en D2 anglaise à Cardiff et est actuellement meilleur buteur.
